the STORIES I tell

A Price Quote — Is Not Just a Price!

Updated: May 31

Once upon a time, I worked at Arcaffe. I was one of those baristas with the little bowtie walking around tables.

And honestly, I think that job — at the big Arcaffe branch in Herzliya Pituach, Shenkar Street — is a big part of why I am who I am today, at least when it comes to customer service.

There were times when I had to deal with customers yelling.

(Not at me, really — they were probably just pissed off from earlier that morning and took it out on me or a coworker who dared to ask them:

“Which coffee would you like? We don’t have a regular cappuccino, but we do have macchiato, latte macchiato, café latte…”

I discovered something amazing:

The nicer I was, the calmer they became.

It’s really hard to keep yelling at someone with a bowtie who’s being super kind.

Like… perspective, you know?

Now, in my professional world, I get a lot of quote requests throughout the day.

Many of them come from people who already know about me — Paz Interactive, a studio for branding, design, and marketing — either through a friend, colleague, former or current client.

But that’s not the only way people find me. Others discover me through Facebook, Instagram, Google, Wix… all over (because let’s be real, a digital agency can’t go barefoot online, right?).

When someone comes through a personal connection, chances are they already know a little about who I am, how I work, and the kind of results I deliver.

But what about those who don’t?

Or those reaching out to me and ten other people at once (which is fine! I actually encourage that)?

Here’s the one thing I want to tell you:

A quote is NOT just about the price.

The quote you receive should reflect experience. A strong portfolio.

It should reflect deep knowledge. And above all — it should include service.

When you’re looking for a graphic designer / web designer / interior designer / plastic surgeon / mover / fitness coach / dentist… it’s not just the final product that matters.

It’s the service throughout the process. (Which is often long!)

It’s:— Who will actually listen to you?— Who will support you if something goes wrong?— Who will care about your success?

So next time you get a price quote, ask yourself:

Does this include everything I truly need?

If the answer is yes — go for it!

If the answer is no… remember, sometimes “cheap” ends up costing a lot more.
